The potential of organic electronics goes beyond OLEDs and OPVs. In analogy to inorganic semiconductors, various technologies such as organic transistors and sensors have been developed. Because organic electronic devices are thin, potentially low-cost, flexible and even biocompatible, they are perfect for a wide range of novel applications in wearables, the Internet of Things, healthcare and packaging.
